The first images ever released from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope show galaxies as they appeared over 4.6 billion years ago. These breathtaking visuals are composites created with several images at unique wavelengths over a 12.5 hour span. Construction of the Webb Space Telescope took over 20 years, and was launched into orbit around the sun earlier this year, 2022.
